My Top 3 Favourite Series Right Now
I like the darker side of entertainment. Dystopian dramas, zombie films, and futuristic scenes of a bleak landscape. I also love mysteries and classic crime stories, so when my oldest recommended "Knives Out," I was eager to watch it!
When it comes to what I want to watch (or binge, if I have the time), my taste is eclectic: a documentary here, a crime drama there, and a dark futuristic series next!
The Last of Us
Based on the popular game, The Last of Us captured my attention due to its dystopian setting and fungus-infected zombies. The two main characters, played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, won me over immediately, having been a fan of Game of Thrones years ago. While I have no previous experience with the gaming side of this story, my kids were highly anticipating this series, so I had to give it a shot!
The acting, writing, and plot development are brilliant. Just when you think the storyline can't get any better, you're proven wrong! It's not just the apocalyptic theme that lured me into watching, nor the excellent casting, but the element of humanity and how it exists within a society that's fallen to its (near) death.
