In 2017, I traveled to London, England, and spent several days around the city, also touring Bristol and Cardiff, Wales, during my stay in the UK. One of the featured events of my trip was the Jack the Ripper tour, about the infamous serial killer of the mid-1800s.

Like many people, I’m a true crime enthusiast. I listen to numerous podcasts and watch documentaries and crime series with fascination. Despite being a skeptic, I enjoy haunted walks and exploring the paranormal, but with an open mind. One ghost walk experience, in particular, prompted me to take the Jack the Ripper tour when I booked my trip to the UK.

On a day trip to Hamilton, Ontario, we joined an evening ghost tour in May 2014. We explored historic and haunted sites around the city’s core, including a run-down alleyway where the brutally slain body of a woman was discovered in the mid-1800s. Eerily, this murder strongly resembled the grotesque nature of the Ripper killings, and one of the potential suspects was rumoured to be from England. I posted about this tour shortly after on my older Tumblr blog, along with some grainy, blurry cellphone photos:
